Event Host Spotlight

The Tee Box โ€” St. George

A massive thank you to The Tee Box for hosting our Summer Kickoff Event. If you're looking to improve your game, play anytime no matter the weather, and get a workout in โ€” The Tee Box is the place. Indoor simulators, training bays, and the best golf atmosphere in Washington County. Come see why it's our league's home away from the course.

Saturday June 6, from 6 to 8pm at The Tee Box in St George, The REV Tour is closing out the Spring Season and launching Summer. If you have been golfing in Washington County for any length of time, you already know something is happening here. This event is where you see it up close. All are invited. Members, prospects, friends, family, business owners, weekend warriors, low handicap players, brand new players, everyone. This night is open.

I am Jim Zierse, and I started The REV Tour because I wanted a real league experience for the golfers in Southern Utah. Not a once a month scramble. Not a clubhouse beer league. A real league with real scoring, real competition, real community, and real reasons to keep showing up. What started with thirty founding members has turned into one of the fastest growing golf communities in the region. Saturday June 6 is where we celebrate Spring, recognize the people who made it possible, and show you exactly what is coming next.

Here is what is happening that night.

The Spring Season Awards

The REV Index does not lie. We track every round, every score, every shot pattern across the season. June 6 is when we hand out the trophies. The Spring Season Champion is walking out of The Tee Box with their name attached to the inaugural Spring crown for The REV Tour. The Most Improved award goes to the golfer who made the biggest jump from week one to week eight. I have seen the numbers and at least one of these awards is going to surprise the room.

If you have been in this league since March, you already know how hard the field has competed. If you have been watching from the outside, this is your chance to see who the names to beat actually are.

The Seven Businesses That Made Spring Possible

I will say this in person Saturday night and I want to say it here too. No St George Utah golf league grows the way we have grown without local businesses standing behind it. These seven did exactly that for the Spring Season.

House of Jump. Plunj. Move Better. Birdie Beam. Los Topatios Restaurant. The Tee Box. And now Chick fil A, who stepped up to feed everyone in the room June 6.

Every one of these businesses gets a recognition moment at the event. If you own a business in Washington County and you have ever wondered if sponsoring something like this is worth it, come watch how we treat the people who back us. We do it right.

The Summer Season Schedule Reveal

Spring was eight weeks. Summer is eight more, and the schedule is the strongest one we have built so far. New courses in the rotation. A format wrinkle that is going to change how the leaderboard plays out. Dates that work for working golfers, not just retirees with open Tuesdays.

I am not dropping the full schedule online before the event. If you want to see it first, be in the room June 6. Members and prospects will see it at the same time. That is on purpose.

A New Piece of Software That Changes How You Play With Us

This is the one I have been sitting on the longest. For the entire Spring Season we have been quietly building and testing the REV Tour Player Dashboard, a piece of software that puts your scores, your stats, your REV Index, and your handicap progression in your hand in real time. No more wondering where you stand. No more waiting until Sunday night to find out what last week did to your number.

The headline feature is the REV Index. Every player has one. It is our version of a handicap, and unlike most golf league handicap systems, ours is fully transparent. You can see exactly how it is calculated, every score that went into it, and what you need to do to lower it. Here is what every player sees on their own dashboard.

REV Tour Player Dashboard โ€” personal REV Index calculation

How the REV Index Is Calculated

Step 1, Collect Your Rounds. We look at your last 18 nine hole scores. An 18 hole round counts as two 9 hole scores. This includes your initial seed scores from sign up and every round you have played since.

Step 2, Find Your Best 9 Performances. We rank all 18 scores from best to worst and take your best 9. Bad rounds do not count. Only your best golf matters.

Step 3, The Formula. Average of your best 9, minus a consistency bonus (lower if your scores are tight), plus 2. Lower is better, just like a handicap.

The math: REV Index = avg(best 9) minus consistency bonus plus 2

For example, my current REV Index is 4.55. The math behind that number is 3.78 (the average of my best 9 differentials) minus 1.23 (my consistency bonus) plus 2. That math shows up on my player dashboard in real time. Every player sees their own version. Total transparency.

What You See on Your Dashboard

You see your current REV Index up top in big numbers. Below it, a card by card walkthrough of how it was calculated. Below that, a full table of your last 18 nine hole scores with source (seed, 18 hole round, 9 hole round), week, date, par, score, differential, and a green check mark next to the 9 scores that made it into your best 9. Bad rounds are visible but they are not hurting you. Good rounds are highlighted.

At the bottom of your dashboard, the math is laid out one more time and four ways to lower your REV Index:

  1. Shoot lower scores. Only your best 9 of 18 matter. A great round pushes a worse one out of the best 9.
  2. Be consistent. The consistency bonus rewards tight scores. If your best 9 are all similar, you get a bigger deduction.
  3. Bad rounds do not hurt. Since we only use the best 9, a bad day on the course will not wreck your index.
  4. Play more rounds. As you play more, your seed scores from sign up get pushed out and replaced by real performance.

Why This Matters

If you have ever played in a league where you had to wait a week for a handicap update, where the math was a black box, or where the system felt like it was working against the casual player, this is the opposite of all of that. The REV Index updates the second your scores get logged. The math is shown right next to the number. And the system is designed so that one bad day never costs you the season.

I will demo it live at The Tee Box Saturday. If you have been in any other Washington County golf league or Southern Utah golf league and you have wished the tech was better, you are going to like what we built.

What Membership Looks Like Going Forward

I am also using June 6 to announce the new monthly membership structure. Spring was the founding season and the founding pricing reflected that. Summer is where The REV Tour grows up. The new fee, what is included, when it kicks in, and how current members are taken care of, all of that gets explained in the room Saturday night.

If you are thinking about joining, this is the night you want to be there. Joining the Summer Season the night of the event gets you the best deal we have ever offered, and I am only making that offer to people who show up.

What This Event Actually Is

It is two hours of food, golf talk, awards, and announcements. It is not a sales pitch. It is not a meeting. It is a launch party for the next chapter of the best golf league in Washington County and everyone is invited.

You do not have to be a member. You do not have to know anyone in the room. You do not have to be a low handicap. You do not have to RSVP in advance, although it helps with food planning. Walk in, grab a sandwich, see what we built. That is the whole bar.

Bring a friend. Especially bring the friend who has been thinking about playing in a league but has not pulled the trigger yet. They will see five seasons worth of community happening in one room and they will get it.

Where, When, and How to Be There

  • Where: The Tee Box, St George, Utah
  • When: Saturday June 6, 2026, 6:00pm to 8:00pm
  • Cost: Free, food included thanks to Chick fil A

We will start mingling at 6:00, kick off the program at 6:30, and have you out the door by 8:00. Doors are at The Tee Box main entrance. Park in the main lot. Wear what you want, golfers welcome in golf clothes, business owners welcome in whatever you wore to work.

One Last Thing

If you have been following The REV Tour from a distance, wondering whether this is for you, June 6 is the answer. Walk in, eat a sandwich, watch the awards, see the software, hear the summer plan, and decide for yourself. I built this league for golfers in Southern Utah who want something better than what was here before. Saturday night is your chance to see it in person.

See you at The Tee Box.
